Originally called the Health Prevention Parcours, the Health Prevention Pass (PPS) is an official initiative of the French Athletics Federation (FFA), established in accordance with the law of 2 March 2022 and the decree of 12 April 2024, which remove the requirement for adults to obtain a medical certificate.
This scheme, recognised by all running event organisers, replaces the medical certificate with an online awareness course on health prevention and responsible sports practice.
The aim is to simplify administrative procedures while strengthening the prevention of risks associated with running.
It is valid for one year. The Pass is available at an annual rate of €5, including civil liability insurance.
For underage athletes, a free health questionnaire is available and directly integrated into the PPS platform to simplify the process. This questionnaire is valid for a single event.
